Dental Bridges in San Marcos
If you’ve lost one or more teeth for any reason, from an accident, decay, etc., it’s important to replace them as quickly as possible. Not only can it negatively effect your speech, it can limit your diet. Even worse, missing teeth create a void that surrounding teeth may shift into, which can lead to a variety of problems and dental health issues down the road.
Dental bridges can be a great option to help restore your smile and prevent further damage.
What Are Dental Bridges?
A dental bridge is designed to literally bridge the gap created by a missing tooth (or multiple missing teeth). First, the remaining teeth on either side of the gap are prepared with crowns. These are the abutment teeth, commonly referred to as the “anchoring” teeth. Then, the false teeth are placed and secured in between, effectively restoring your smile and preventing other teeth from shifting over time.
If you’re missing one or more teeth for any reason, contact Larry D. Molenda, D.D.S. today to discuss your situation and schedule a consultation. We’d be happy to discuss whether a dental bridge is the right option for you, and go over any questions you may have.
