Instead of utilizing metal for fillings (called amalgams, which are an alloy of mercury with other metal(s)), Dr. Molenda uses durable tooth-colored fillings. These fillings blend in with your tooth’s natural color, instead of the gray-ish color that can result from using amalgam fillings.
These composite resin fillings not only look more natural, they’re also more supportive and flexible. Amalgam fillings are inflexible and can change shape as temperature fluctuates, which can lead to cracked teeth (which can lead to a number of oral health issues). Composite resin fillings are more flexible and bond to teeth, which helps prevent these issues.
